Bystanders Save Woman From Burning Car

The driver had collided with a box truck, and her car was fully engulfed in flames.

PLAINVIEW, NY — Bystanders rescued a woman after her car fully burst into flames Wednesday morning in Plainview, officials said.

A woman was driving a Toyota Camry when she collided with a box truck at the intersection of Old Country Road and Pasadena Drive at 11:14 a.m. Bystanders managed to pull the driver out of her burning car in time. The woman was transported to Nassau County Medical Center with unknown injuries, and the truck driver was not injured.

Plainview fire fighters doused the flames, and Old Country Road was closed in both directions for over an hour.
