Description: Caring for aging parents can be both rewarding and challenging, and the Mid Island Y JCC is offering a free evening designed to provide guidance, support, and practical tools for adult children caregivers. The evening begins at 5:45 PM with “Whine & Cheese,” where participants can enjoy light refreshments while connecting with other caregivers in a relaxed, supportive setting. At 6:00 PM, Lori Hardoon, LCSW, and Maria Lever, LCSW of Guiding Hearts Helping Hands, will present “Demystifying Palliative Care,” explaining how palliative care can enhance quality of life for loved ones living with serious illnesses and provide essential support for those who care for them. The program concludes at 7:00 PM with Cookies & Conversation, offering a chance to reflect, share experiences, and enjoy a quick bite before heading home.
