The Mid Island Y JCC invites the community to join in observing the sacred tradition of Tikkun Leil Shavuot, an evening dedicated to Torah study in celebration of Shavuot, marking the moment the Jewish people received the Torah at Mount Sinai.
The program will take place on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 8:00 to 10:30 p.m. at the Plainview Jewish Center, 95 Floral Drive West, Plainview.
Clergy from local synagogues will share insights and perspectives throughout the evening, creating a meaningful and engaging communal learning experience.
This year’s theme includes a lighthearted and festive discussion titled “Ice Cream vs. Cheesecake: Which is the Perfect Shavuot Dairy Treat?”, adding a sweet twist to the night of study and celebration.
The event is open to the community. For more information, contact Rabbi Debra Bennet at 516-822-3535 ext. 310 or dbennet@miyjcc.org.
