Try your hand at the art of fused glass during this beginner-friendly workshop at the Manes JCC, formerly known as Mid Island Y JCC. Artist Kelly Schulte-Smith will guide participants through the basics of this creative technique, including how glass is fired at high temperatures in a kiln.
Each participant will create their own 10-inch fused glass lazy Susan. All supplies are included, and finished projects will be fired after the class, with a pickup date arranged once they are ready.
The workshop will take place Wednesday, October 14, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Manes JCC, 45 Manetto Hill Road in Plainview. The class is open to adults 18 and older. The cost is $90, or $75 for members. Registration closes October 12.
