Jewish Genealogy 101: Four+ Hours to Your Family Roots

Jewish Genealogy 101 is both: An overview for beginners, many of whom are eager to learn about their roots but don’t know where to start; and a review for family historians with some experience who want to brush up or expand their skills.

The workshop’s expert instructors will explain where and how to find the Jewish records which exist in the United States, Europe, and Israel. Participants will learn how to gather and organize from a wide variety of document sources, such as censuses, ship manifests, vital records, and other important sources.
Lectures, accompanying illustrations and workshop manual will also cover:
  • Interviewing relatives
  • Locating ancestral towns
  • Holocaust research
  • European records
  • Computer and Internet resources
