Holiday Tea With Local Senior Citizens

JFK High Community Service Club Hosts Annual Senior Citizen Tea

Students of Plainview-Old Bethpage School District’s (POB) John F. Kennedy High School community service club recently hosted its Annual Senior Citizen Tea. The students served approximately 100 local senior citizens coffee, tea and baked goods while the A Cappella groups performed holiday songs. The students also obtained donated gift cards and other prizes from local vendors which were raffled to the guests, which doubled as early holiday gifts for many senior citizens.

This annual event is the first of two scheduled events this year for the senior citizens of the POB community. The Senior Citizen Prom will be held at the high school in March of 2016, also organized by the Community Service Club. The senior citizen population in the community and students look forward to both of events each year. The students learn to give back to those that have given their community so much over the years.
