Jared Goerke for POB Board of Education

Jared Goerke is the youngest candidate running for the Plainview-Old Bethpage Board of Education. He graduated POBJFKHS in June 2016, and he just graduated from Purchase College last week. While Jared may be young, his youth brings a fresh new perspective to the Board of Education that could benefit the school district.

Jared’s experience as a recent Plainview graduate would no doubt be helpful in making good decisions for students in the district. He has seen first-hand some of the problems that need to be addressed, and his voice could implement big changes.

Not only has Jared had experience as a student in the district, but he has also shown his leadership within the district. When we were in high school together, I was on the Thespian Honor Society board with him. Jared served as a Publicity Coordinator, and I can honestly say he was an asset to making our drama program successful. He always worked hard in his position, and he would always help out in other areas of the club too. I have personally seen how he is deeply committed to competing any task he is given, and I have no doubt that he would bring this work ethic to the Board of Education as well.

Jared is someone who gives 100 percent to everything he is a part of. Knowing how passionate he is about being on the Board of Education, I am confident he would help create a better school district for our community.
