JFK String Orchestra Takes Top Prize in Competition

Plainview students win again in second KPALI event.

Plainview JFK's String Orchestra recently performed in the second-annual Korean Parents Association of Long Island (KPALI) Music Performance Competition under the direction of POBJFK orchestra director Mr. Glenn Rubin.

The students performed “The American Dream: An Anthem,” by young American composer Chris Lowry.

The Plainview-JFK students won first place in the competition for the second consecutive year. (The group tied with another ensemble.0 Each of the winning ensembles was awarded a check for $500.
