Long Island Artist, Jerri Castillo, Exhibition at Briarcliffe College, Bethpage in May

Jerri Castillo, of Mastic, NY is a multimedia visual artist and educator. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate, from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts from The American University in Washington D.C. Ms. Castillo has also studied at The Florence Academy of Art, in Florence Italy. She wrote and led multiple community art workshops for her project Tri-Hamlet My Community and Yours which was funded by a grant from the JPMorgan Chase Artist Reach Out Program. She has taught art in numerous centers on Long Island and has worked with children as a museum education coordinator, youth coordinator, and team lead for a summer arts program. She currently teaches art classes at Gallery North in East Setauket.

Her artwork has been shown in both galleries and museums nationally and internationally. Including, New York City, The Katzen Museum in Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Carnegie Museum of Art film festival in Pittsburgh, and the Hanyang University Museum in Seoul, South Korea.

Each month Briarcliffe College, Patchogue campus hosts an exhibition of art work by Long Island Artists. Exhibition director and curator, Lisa L. Cangemi,has brought many Long Island artists to the campus to show their fine art and photography.

Exhibition hours at the college are Monday-Thursday 9am thru 9pm, Friday 9am-4pm

The 'Art in the Atrium' exhibition is located at the Main Hallway Lobby Entrance of the college.
