Man Arrested After Displaying Gun In Nassau: Police
The man displayed what appeared to be a rifle or shotgun after he and a neighbor argued over parking, police say.
PLAINVIEW, NY — A Plainview man was arrested after Nassau police said he displayed a gun while arguing with his neighbor on Sunday.
A man, 20, legally parked his vehicle on the street in front of his neighbor’s house near Amherst and Fordham drives around 8 p.m., police said. After parking the vehicle, George Kauer, 68, of Plainview, had an argument with the man about parking and displayed what appeared to be a rifle or shotgun, police said. The man told police and Kauer was arrested without incident, police said.
Police recovered a rifle and shotgun from Kauer's home, police said. Kauer was taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated.

Kauer was charged with second-degree menacing and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He will be arraigned when medically practical, police said.
