Man Charged With Stealing Items From Parked Car in Plainview: Police

The 36-year-old was connected to two separate car break-ins in the past year.

WESTBURY, NY - A Brentwood man was arrested on Monday for stealing items from a parked car in Westbury back in September, according to Nassau Police.

On Sept. 9, a 22-year-old man parked his 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee at a movie theater on 7000 Brush Hollow Road.

When he returned, he discovered someone broke the passenger side window and stole cash, a watch and a laptop computer, police said.

After an investigation, 36-year-old Napoleon Lugo was placed under arrest on Monday after surrendering to the Nassau County Police Department, police said.

Police found that Lugo had also stolen an iPad and a laptop computer on November 21, 2015 from a 2014 Chevrolet Suburban parked on Service Road in Plainview.

He is being charged with third degree grand larceny, two counts of fourth degree grand larceny and two counts of third degree criminal mischief, police said.

He will be arraigned on Monday.
