The Not So Obvious Benefits of A Proper Exercise Program
The mental, and clarity effects people need now more than ever.

I’ve been seeing more and more people finally discuss how important it is to be exercising properly, and consistently. Sure, Summer is coming (Whether it feels like it or not), so you want your body ready. But have you thought about how exercise can completely turn your mental state around, as well as clear your mind from all that we are holding in.
Think about how much time you are spending at home. Thinking about how bad you’d like to go out and live your normal life. Not only that, but does this pandemic have you worried? Are you watching the news more to stay up to date on whats happening? These are all things that most people are dealing with right now. I’ve had multiple clients tell me they find themselves much more anxious then ever, or they are sleeping less. This is natural, and you’re not the only one, I promise. First and foremost, cut down your consumption of the news! No matter which news outlet you are watching, you will hear 95% bad, or sad news. There are scientific studies that prove how much news consumption will effect your mental health. I’m not saying don’t stay informed, just cut it down.
That being said, anytime I work with a client I start the hour by asking “How’re we feeling today?” This not only allows me to adjust your workout to any soreness you might be having, but I need to know what head space you are in. No matter what the answer is in the beginning, when I ask that question at the end, its met with a smile, and my client saying they feel better. The endorphins that you produce when you are moving, and active are no joke. They will have an immediate effect on you. Pair that with the sense of accomplishment you have in yourself that you get from working hard, and you have immediately improved your mindset for the day. Even if I’m not giving you the soul crushing, puddle of sweat workout that those fat loss TV shows promote, you’ll be amazed by how you’ll feel just getting outside your comfort zone.

Do you want even more of an advantage? Make use of the nice days that we have coming, and get outside!! I like to workout in my backyard whenever possible. You can do a whole lot with minimal equipment. (Follow me on Instagram for some Great no, or minimal equipment exercise ideas @Fitnesszadok21) Just the other day I went out, and found a nice steep hill. I sprinted as fast as I could up and down that hill. After 20 minutes of it, my heart rate was way up, my apple watch said I burned about 400 calories, and the effect of that hard work lasted me for hours after I was done. Not only did I efficiently burn calories, but I worked all the muscles in my lower body. And you know what else...I practiced some real social distancing! Being outside in the sun will not only give you the best and most natural source of vitamin D, giving you energy that we all need now more than ever. There are also countless positive effects to grounding yourself. When you’re in the comfort of your own yard, walk around barefoot. Let your body feel the earth. Not only good for foot health, but your body wants to be in contact with nature. Give it some!
There are no excuses. Actually I take that back, EVERYONE has excuses. But take my advice, just try it. What do you have to lose. Want to start somewhere easy? Walk every day. Start with 30 minutes if you can. When you get outside, the fresh air, and the sun will help to clear your mind, and restart your day. When you realize how helpful it is, ramp it up.
