Pasadena Elementary School Receives Public Library Summer Reading Award

Local Elementary School Regains Title After Reading The Most Books

Plainview-Old Bethpage (POB) School District’s Pasadena Elementary School recently received the POB Public Library Summer Reading Award for having the most students participate in the Summer Reading Challenge. Summer reading encourages students to learn and expand their reading skills during the vacation months. Pasadena Elementary School had won five years straight before the school lost their title last year. This year, students were able to celebrate bringing the trophy back to their school building and their overall seventh win throughout the history of the competition. A representative from the library presented the trophy to the elementary school students, along with a box of books for its library.
