Westbury Driver Dies After Crashing Into Overpass In Plainview

BREAKING: Officials say the driver went into cardiac arrest and firefighters had to remove him from SUV. He died at a hospital

PLAINVIEW, NY — A Westbury driver is dead following a fiery SUV crash in Plainview, state police said.

Frank Biscello, 43, lost control of his 2013 Chevrolet Traverse and smashed into an overpass around 9 a.m. Wednesday, state police said. The vehicle had been traveling in the left lane on Northern State Parkway when it crashed near the Manetto Hill Road bridge, police and firefighters told Patch.

Biscello went into cardiac arrest and firefighters had to remove him from the SUV, officials said. He was rushed to Plainview Hospital in critical condition and died of his injuries, state police said.

Firefighters extinguished a small blaze that ignited under the hood of the vehicle, officials said.

Plainview and Syosset firefighters were called to the scene, as well as state troopers and Nassau County police.
