Plainview Dads Salute Local Business of the Year
Page Barber Shop voted Business of the Year

Plainview Dads, a Facebook Group of nearly 600 active members in the Plainview area, recently voted Page Barber Shop as its “2015 Plainview Dads Business of the Year.” The award, the group’s first, was presented at a networking dinner held at Ayhan’s Shish Kebab in Plainview. Plainview DadsP, formed in 2013, uses the Facebook platform to network, discuss local concerns and businesses and support the local community. Leading up to the Business of the Year event, the group had held two networking dinner events which were hugely successful and well attended.
“For our next networking event we decided to do something different,” says local attorney Dan Solinsky, one of the group’s founders and its Facebook administrator. “We wanted to recognize a local business for its role in making the Plainview community such a wonderful place to raise our families. Page Barber Shop was selected as the inaugural Business of the Year because of a great act of kindness.”

When a young boy in the community was diagnosed with Leukemia and because of medical treatments had to have his hair cut off, Page Barber Shop offered to cut off the hair of every kid on his soccer team free of charge to encourage a show of solidarity.
“The kids took them up on this offer and had a lot of fun doing it. This had such a positive effect on the boy, his family and the community that many members were compelled to vote for Page Barber Shop.” Solinsky’s law firm, Salenger, Sack, Kimmel & Bavaro in Woodbury, donated the plaque that was presented to Page Barber Shop.
