PLAINVIEW, NY — A massage and skin care center in Plainview caught fire Monday night and quick-thinking workers extinguished the blaze, fire officials said. An electrical outlet burst into flames around 7 p.m. Monday at Massage Envy on South Oyster Road, officials said.

Syosset firefighters found an electrical outlet on fire. Workers used a fire extinguisher to knock down the flames and fire crews shut off the power to the burning outlet. Firefighters also removed the sheetrock around the outlet to ensure the flames hadn't spread in the wall, officials said.

An engine from the Hicksville Fire Department also responded to the blaze.
