Plainview-Old Bethpage School District Learn Personal Historic Lesson From a Holocaust Survivor
Eighth Grade Students Learn From Holocaust Survivor Ruth Minsky Sender's Memoir and Experiences
Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District’s H.B. Mattlin Middle School (MMS) recently welcomed Holocaust survivor Ruth Minsky Sender to speak with 8th grade students and teachers. Mrs. Sender's visit to MMS was timely as students had just finished reading Mrs. Sender's memoir, The Cage, in their English Language Arts classes. Mrs. Sender’s presentation provided a real world experience to students who will be studying World War II in their social studies classes. Mrs. Sender answered students' questions who were deeply moved by her memoir and presentation.
