Mattlin Middle School’s Service Club alongside students and teachers recently raised $1,382.43 during a fundraiser to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Service Club members delivered boxes to every student to help them collect coins in support of their “Pennies for Patients” initiative. The “Pennies for Patients” project aids local patients in their fight against Leukemia and Lymphoma. Students learned about character education and philanthropy, supported the cause to help find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and improved patients’ and their families’ quality of life.
