Plainview-Old Bethpage Students Win Junior Varsity Quiz Bowl

Students Win Title of 2016 Junior Varsity Long Island Champions

Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District students recently competed in Varsity and Junior Varsity Quiz Bowl, competing against 20 opposing varsity teams and 18 opposing junior varsity teams in three preliminary rounds. Both Plainview-Old Bethpage teams qualified for the final rounds in each division.

Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School Varsity students made it to the quarterfinals, while the Junior Varsity team, ranked sixth going into the final round, finished with an impressive 65 point score in the finals. The score was enough to defeat last year’s champion, Ward Melville High School, for the title of 2016 Junior Varsity Long Island Champions. This is the first time in 12 years that Plainview-Old Bethpage has won the title and finished the season undefeated.
