Plainview Students Volunteer At Breast Cancer Walk

The middle school students helped out at the 24th annual event at Jones Beach.

PLAINVIEW, NY - The Howard B. Mattlin Middle School Community Service Club recently helped out by volunteering at the 24th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.

The students were on hand giving out healthy snacks and water bottles to the more the more than 60,000 walkers who helped raise funds to support breast cancer research.

The event took place at Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh.

The Community Service Club is made up of students throughout the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District in all grades who have a passion for helping others and participating in community service programs.

The longstanding club prides itself on community outreach and helping students develop a knack for benefiting the world around them.
