Plainview Suffers Tough Loss to Oceanside
Hawks trailed 28-0 in first half; take first loss of the season.

The Plainview Hawks suffered a tough defeat at the hands of the top-ranked team in the division, losing Saturday night to Oceanside, 45-14 in a football game Saturday evening.
Traveling to Oceanside with a 2-0 record in Nassau I, perhaps their best start in decades, Plainview encountered a powerful running game Saturday. They trailed 28-0 late in the first half before getting on the board with a 27-yard run from Justin Schenck. Three Oceanside players rushed for more than 100 yards.
Oceanside (3-0) continued to dominate in the third quarter, racking up another 17 points, including a 40 yard field goal. Plainview (2-1) added a late rushing touchdown.

The Hawks, ranked last in the pre-season power ratings, took downthen continued their winning ways last Saturday, defeating Hicksville handily. Oceanside is rated first in the rankings for Nassau I.
