Plainview-Old Bethpage School Budget Passes

Plainview-Old Bethpage voters approved a $145 million budget on Tuesday for the 2014-15 school year.

With a final tally of 1,445 to 569 in favor, residents within the Plainview School District can expect to see a 1.76 percent increase in their collective tax levy in the following year. The budget falls within the tax levy capital limit.  

Voters approved by 1,448 to 491 a proposition to spend $442,312 from the capital reserve fund for renovations at H.B. Mattlin Middle School.  They also approved by 1,425 to 505 the creation of a reserve fund for capital projects of up to $5 million.

Debbie Bernstein keeps her seat with 1,426 votes. Ginger Lieberman keeps her seat with 1,399 votes. Write-in Scott Limmer received 144 votes.
