POBMS Presents ‘Annie JR.’

Drama Students Delight Audiences with Classic Play

Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School recently brought the musical Annie JR. to the stage, delighting audiences with the performance. Based on the classic comic strip and adapted from the Broadway show, the production showcased this classic story. Set in 1930s New York City, Annie JR. follows the journey of little orphan Annie as she overcomes challenges with her optimism and grit.

The cast delivered stellar performances, led by Isabel Vasquez as Annie, Scarlett Orenzow as Miss Hannigan, Bryant Molbegat as Oliver Warbucks, Courtney Keslowitz as Grace Farrell, and Sara Chadha as Sandy, along with Lyla Lanzisera, Miranda Villalobos, Charlotte Edmundson, Maya Weingarten, Harper Cali-Manko and Emmalina Lee. The stellar ensemble cast included over 50 talented and enthusiastic POBMS students. Behind the scenes, Ms. Andrea Martin directed and served as the music director, with Ms. Emma Catalano as the producer. Mr. Donovan Molinaro doubled as choreographer and costume designer, while Mr. Brian Burke accompanied rehearsals. Mr. Evan Licari served as stage manager, with technical direction provided by Mr. Rodney Harris.

The production showcased the hard work, talent, and dedication both on stage and off of students and staff alike.
