Road Rage Incident On LIE; Man Damages Another Car: Police

Panagiotis Orkopoulos, who was arrested on multiple charges, was brought to a hospital for evaluation, authorities said.

JERICHO, NY — A incident, described by police as road rage, took place Monday evening in Jericho.

Nassau police responded to a 911 call from a 49-year-old man and his 12-year-old son just after 7 p.m.

While in the HOV lane of the Long Island Expressway, a man exited his 2012 Suburu and began damaging the victim's vehicle with his head and fists, authorities said.

The victim was able to drive away and call police. No injuries were reported.

A short time later, Panagiotis Orkopoulos, 42, of Queens, was placed under arrest and transferred to a local hospital for evaluation.

Orkopoulos faces second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child.

He'll be arraigned when it's medically practical, police said.
