Robots and Other Marvels on Display at JFK

High School event to put engineering in spotlight on Wednesday.

Live robot demonstrations and other engineering marvels will be the centerpiece of the "FIRST" Engineering Awareness Night Wednesday at Plainview JFK.

The event runs from 7-9 p.m. in the high school's cafeteria.

Sponsored by "FIRST", an acronym standing "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology," the Plainview's POBOTS team, the program includes pneumatics, electrical and mechanical demonstrations.

FIRST LEGO teams from Mattlin and Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle schools will also be in attendance.

The event is open to the public.
