WATCH: Owners Create 1990s-Themed 'Time Machine' Bar In Bethpage
Nostalgia is set to open on Sept. 29.

BETHPAGE, NY — If you grew up with "Friends" (first-run) or Urkel, then you were probably a child of the 1990s.
Costas Themistocleous and Thomas Angenbroich, who have known each other since middle school in Hicksville, are also from that era.
They decided to incorporate their upbringing into the new Bethpage bar/restaurant, fittingly called "Nostalgia." It is expected to open on Sept. 29.

Angenbroich said the germ of an idea sprouted at least six years ago.
"I used to manage a place in Amityville called 'Revolution Music Hall.'" Angenbroich said on Patch AM that he spoke at the time to one of the bartenders, another Nostalgia owner. "Wouldn't it be cool if you walked into a bar and everything was 90s-themed?"

The "what ifs" became "why not?" when an opportunity opened in 2021.
"We're definitely 90s kids, for sure," Themistocleous said on Monday's Patch AM.
"We truly feel like we built a time machine," Themistocleous said. "We didn't want to just create another bar. We didn't want to give you a standard gimmick. We wanted to give you a full experience."
That includes TVs with vintage shows or movies, 90s toys on the wall or even Nintendo games to play.
If Nostalgia does well, the owners hope to expand on Long Island.
It is located at 380 North Wantagh Avenue.
