Saying Thank You to America's Heroes

Middle School Students Send Thank-You Cards and Halloween Candy to Troops

Plainview-Old Bethpage School District’s H.B. Mattlin Middle School students will honor American Heroes on Veteran’s Day by sending thank-you cards to serviceman and woman in the United States Navy. The school’s Service Club created hand-made thank you cards to send with one of the members as she visits her sister stationed on a ship off the coast of Florida. In addition, the students of the Service Club chose to donate their leftover Halloween candy to Operation Gratitude. The organization sends close to 100,000 care packages to the United States military every year.
