Stop & Shop Takes Part in Salute to Long Island Veterans

Several Stop & Shop employees took part in a salute to Long Island veterans at the Museum of American Armor

With Long Island boasting the largest veteran population in the United States, Stop & Shop's (left to right) Sue Sweeney of Ridge, Colleen Comiglino of Port Jefferson, Patty D'amado of Deer Park and Michelle Rappa of Huntington Station greet living historian "General Douglas MacArthur" during ceremonies at the Museum of American Armor at Old Bethpage Village Restoration. The celebrations honored veterans, including decorated WWII vet U.S. District Judge Leonard Wexler. They were joined by members of Congress, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran and New York State Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan in saluting those who have served.
