Town To Make Improvements To Plainview Playground

Over the next few weeks, officials will be working on improving several parks within the Town of Oyster Bay.

Oyster Bay Town officials announced on Thursday that several playgrounds throughout the Town will be undergoing vast enhancements and, in some cases, complete replacements.

“Work is underway to improve and replace playground equipment throughout the Town of Oyster Bay,” Supervisor Joseph Saladino said. “My administration has begun the process of replacing dilapidated playgrounds with all new equipment, bringing a brand new, state-of-the-art playgrounds to parks throughout the Town. Playgrounds in need of enhancement are also receiving a facelift so that children can continue to safely enjoy them for years to come.”

Over the next few weeks, the Town will be making improvements to playgrounds in parks in Syosset, Plainview, Massapequa and Farmingdale.

Parks and parklets that will see new playgrounds and enhancements include:

  • Ellsworth Allen Park on Motor Avenue in Farmingdale
  • S-1 Parklet on Crocus Drive and Magnolia Lane in Syosset
  • P-34 Parklet on Acorn Lane and Walnut Drive in Plainview
  • M-6 Parklet on N. Hunter Ridge Road and N. Pine Street in North Massapequa
  • Captain Kathy Mazza Memorial Park on Poplar Avenue and Elm Avenue in Farmingdale

Playgrounds in need for flooring replacement will receive new Fibar surfacing, an engineering wood fiber, as its base.

Some, including the large playground at Ellsworth Allen Park, are planned for new mat installation in the spring.
