Tractor Trailer Collides With Car, Driver Injured
A light signal fell onto the road, the truck lost both front tires and gallons of diesel fuel were spilled after the major collision.

PLAINVIEW, NY — Major damage took place when a tractor trailer collided with a car at the intersection of Old Country Road and Pasadena Drive in Plainview on Thursday at 4:16 p.m., per officials.
The driver of the car was injured and transported to the hospital.
The truck struck a traffic signal pole, which caused the light signal to crash into the road. It also struck a tree, ripping its fuel tank off and spilling dozens of gallons of diesel fuel. The impact was so strong, it knocked both of the truck's front tires off.

The Hicksville Fire Department Hazardous Material Unit and the Nassau County Fire Marshals Hazardous Materials unit were also called to the scene.
The collision became a nightmare for drivers during rush hour, as Old Country Road going westbound was closed.
