Woman Carjacked, Knife Displayed, In Plainview: Police

The woman fled on foot along South Oyster Bay Road, police said.

PLAINVIEW, NY — Police are searching for a man who carjacked a woman at knifepoint on Sunday night in Plainview, Nassau police said.

Officers had responded to The French Workshop on South Oyster Bay because of a stolen car. When police arrived, they were told that a female victim, 48, was seated and sleeping in the back of a parked 2019 Audi Q7.

The victim's husband, 48, and a second man, 68, exited the idling vehicle and entered The French Workshop, police said.

The unknown man, who was behind the wheel, noticed the woman in the backseat. He displayed a knife and demanded she leave. She fled northbound on South Oyster Bay Road.

No injuries were reported.
