Woman Caught Sleeping In Stolen Car Containing Stolen Items: Police

The car contained items that were stolen from at least six different cars, police say.

PLAINVIEW, NY - A Wantagh woman was arrested after she was found sleeping in a stolen car which contained stolen items on Wednesday morning, according to Nassau Police.

According to police, officers responded to Plainview Road and Felicia Court for a person sleeping in a car at about 7:15 a.m.

Upon arrival they identified 39-year-old Jaqueline L. Sheridan as the person sleeping in the vehicle, police said.

During the investigation a notification was received that this car was taken from a Wantagh home without the permission of the owner, police said.

A further investigation revealed proceeds from several car thefts which had occurred overnight in the Bethpage and Seaford communities were in the car, police said. Six larcenies of autos were reported in total.

Sheridan is charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and six counts of criminal possession of stolen property, police said.

She will be arraigned on Thursday.
