PLEASANTVILLE, NY — The Pleasantville Music Festival has named a remarkable lineup to perform at the imposing festival venue.
The Pleasantville Music Festival has announced the lineup for its 20th annual event, set for Saturday, July 11, in Pleasantville. Organizers revealed the roster Sunday night at a party held at Captain Lawrence Brewery in Elmsford.
This year's Main Stage headliner is OK Go. The lineup there also includes Old 97’s and The Fixx, with The Vindys performing earlier in the day. The Main Stage will open a little after 1 p.m. with The Speakers, a group of adult musicians with disabilities.
On the Party Stage, headliner The Thing will top a bill that also includes Similar Kind, Two Man Giant Squid and Round Trip. Guitarist Lara Cwass will sit in with Round Trip for the Pleasantville show. Cwass previously played the festival in 2015 with Lions on the Moon.
The Chill Tent Stage will feature Yola as its headliner in what the announcement describes as a stripped-down acoustic configuration. Earlier performers on that stage are scheduled to include Robert the Guitar Guy, Way Behind the Sun and Ari Hest. Dream Street is also on the bill in a reformed acoustic version featuring Pleasantville's Matt Ballinger and South Salem’s Greg Rapaso.
OK Go is known for viral videos including "Here It Goes Again" and "Upside Down and Inside Out." The Old 97’s is a pioneering alt-country band from Dallas, and The Fixx as known for songs including "One Thing Leads to Another" and "Stand or Fall." Yola is described in the announcement as a singer-songwriter who has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards, CMAs and Americana Awards.
The Pleasantville Music Festival is now celebrating its 20th year. The event is affectionately known as New York's Backyard Jam.
