Taconic Opera - now in its remarkable 28th season and past recipient of the Arts Organization of the Year Award in Westchester County - will hold its annual fundraiser Gala on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the C.V. Rich Mansion, 305 Ridgeway, White Plains, NY. Start time: 7:00 pm. This year's theme: Opera Goes to Church.

Guests will dine on sumptuous cuisine and honor long-time supporters and performers whose contributions to the company are immeasurable: Amy Rosato, member of the Taconnic Opera Board of Directors, a nurse and opera lover; Alan Briones, Children's Head Librarian at the Somers library, and opera baritone; and Hattie Herman, Senior Officer at the American Federation for Aging Research, and opera enthusiast.

This Gala's musical selections center around operatic moments taking place in churches around the world. Operas like Manon, Trovatore, Tosca, Suor Angelica, Don Carlo and others used these architectural wonders and sacred places as backdrops to scenes of passion, high drama and heartbreak. The company's outstanding corps of professional lead singers will bring those moments vividly to life.

All Gala proceeds support Taconic Opera's exciting 2026-2027 season of events which consists of three programs that include Beethoven in celebration of his 250th birthday: the complete Ninth Symphony (Ode to Joy) at the Tarrytown Music Hall, a two-concerto concert (Beethoven and Poulenc), and a final concert including all five of the composer's concertos.

Attendance at the Gala will be by a partially tax-deductible donation: Gold $250; Silver, $200; Bronze $150. Discounts are available for tables of eight.

Tickets and reservations can be arranged online at https://taconicopera.org/TIckets/ or by calling (855) 886-7372.Parking is plentiful and the venue is handicap accessible.Full season information is available on the website, https://taconicopera.org/
