PORT CHESTER, NY — The sexual abuse of a child has led to the arrest of a Westchester County man, according to prosecutors.

Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced on Friday that 21-year-old Christopher Mendoza, of Port Chester, was charged with two felonies related to his possession and promotion of child sexual abuse material.

Mendoza was arraigned last week on a felony complaint charging him with felony promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child; and felony possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child.

He was released on his own recognizance pending further proceedings.

"Our investigators work tirelessly with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to identify and apprehend individuals like Christopher Mendoza who promote this obscene material," Cacace said. "We will continue to aggressively pursue anyone who attempts to exploit the most vulnerable members of society, our children."

According to the felony complaint, on February 5, 2025, Mendoza promoted an obscene sexual performance by a child by sharing a video via Snapchat. Prosecutors say the video depicted an adult male sexually abusing a girl who was approximately 7 to 10 years old.

On January 30, Mendoza allegedly possessed a video file of a nude girl approximately 7 to 10 years old engaging in sexual activity, according to the complaint.

This case was investigated by the Hi-Technology Crime Squad within the Westchester County District Attorney's Office, the New York State Police, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The case is being prosecuted by Cyber Crimes Bureau Chief Michael Delohery.
