About Us
Neptune in June, formerly known as Ice Cream Social, is an artist-run curatorial and community project based in Port Chester, NY. Our two-fold mission focuses on supporting emerging artists seeking connection to the larger contemporary art dialogue while bringing meaningful conversations to the Port Chester community that are in tune with local culture. We curate exhibitions locally and across the U.S., in addition to offering workshops, performances, screenings, readings, panels, and other multi-disciplinary public events in partnership with fellow art spaces and community service groups.
The project originated in 2022 as a physical art space with studios, exhibition space, and co-working facilities under the name Ice Cream Social Art Space (ICS). The project continues as of July 2023 without a permanent location, re-founded under its new name and directed by Jenn Cacciola (co-founder of ICS). We present contemporary art with a focus on installation and other mediums that are typically more challenging for artists to exhibit. We curate the experience of this work and its accompanying public programs with accessibility in mind for audiences who don’t regularly have access to or exposure to contemporary art. To remain rooted in and dedicated to our local community’s long-term growth, we offer in-class, after-school, and professional development workshops that are eligible for BOCES aid to schools across Westchester, as an Arts in Education vendor.
