Les Beaux Arts gallery is proud to showcase the Connecticut artist, Robert Carley, for his first solo exhibition starting Sunday, November 8 through January 4, 2027.
Carley is a multifaceted artist; his work includes abstract drawings, political and celebrity caricatures and photographs. He has been shown in numerous galleries and regional museums. Les Beaux Arts will feature his caricatures and abstract drawings.
For Carley, his abstract work is an emotional experience, he draws intricate designs and biomorphic shapes using the negative space as an integral part of the composition. He has been doing these drawings since his high school days and he attributes his influence to Keith Haring. He likes to work in public places rather than his studio, Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts are his regular spots. His political and celebrity caricatures are at the Ronald Reagan presidential museum and his photographs at George Bush presidential library.
Gallery hours: Monday to Thursday 9 to 3 pm; Friday 9 to 3 pm; Sunday 11 to 12:30 pm
