PCCFA 30th Anniversary Artist Series presents Soprano Michelle Serrano Moeritz

A Port Chester native, Michelle Serrano Moeritz began her career in musical theatre, performing in the Broadway tours of “Man of La Mancha,” “South Pacific,” “Carousel” and “Show Boat” and as Eliza Doolittle in an off-Broadway production of “My Fair Lady.”

Despite her success, she wanted to pursue a career in opera. She received her master’s degree in Vocal and Opera Studies from Purchase College, SUNY. She was the 2005 First Place Regional Winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Competition. Since then, she has performed at opera houses in Germany, Italy and the United States.

Ms. Moeritz is also a resident artist with the Literacy Through the Arts program, a 15-year collaboration between the PCCFA and the Port Chester public schools. She brings her love of music to her elementary school students, using music to help them better express themselves.
