Around 5:30 a.m., Sunday, September 11, 2011, Port Chester police responded to a 911 call of a burglary in progress at 235 Mortimer St. and that a person had been stabbed.

The victim’s then-14-year-old daughter, Nicole Guglielmo, had made the call and said her father had been stabbed by the intruder, police said.

Anthony Guglielmo was found on the floor when EMS and police arrive. He was lying in a massive pool of blood. A large butcher knife was on the floor and he had a stab wound to the chest.

McGhee had lived across the street from the victim and his daughter during 2010 and early 2011.

McCarty said over the following two years investigators interviewed and reinterviewed McGhee.

“Finally, the defendant admitted to climbing in the window of the victim’s home and stabbing the victim as he was sleeping,” McCarty said.

During his plea appearance, McGhee admitted he acted alone in the homicide and received a sentence promise of 20 years in state prison.

His sentencing will take place September 6, 2016.
