Port Chester Business Owner Failed to Pay Overtime and Minimum Wages

Elisa Parto, owner of Elisa's Food and Plus, Inc., in Port Chester, has pled guilty to the charges.

Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman announced Thursday that Elisa Parto, owner of Elisa’s Food & Plus, Inc., in Port Chester, had pled guilty to the charges of failing to pay minimum wage and overtime, according to a release.

Parto will be required to pay $47,000 in restitution in unpaid wages to 6 former employees.

“My office has consistently taken a firm stance on minimum wage and overtime violations, including the filing of criminal charges where appropriate,” Attorney General Schneiderman said. “Protecting the livelihoods of hardworking New Yorkers is a priority for my office and this guilty plea demonstrates that commitment.”

Elisa Parto is expected to be sentenced to 3 years’ probation and pay $11,000 in restitution by March 10, 2016 as part of her plea. She is required to continue to pay $1,000 per month every month thereafter while on probation. If she fails to follow this agreement she could face re-sentencing and up to 1 year in jail.

Sentencing is set for March 10, 2016.

Elisa’s Food & Plus, Inc. is located at 73 Poningo St. in Port Chester.
