The increase is the largest percentage increase in the county.

PORT CHESTER, NY — Port Chester schools will see a 16.8 percent increase in state aid for the fiscal year beginning July 1. The district will receive more than $26 million in total, Superintendent Dr. Edward A. Kliszus announced Monday.

“This is fantastic news that is clearly the result of all the work Assemblyman Steve Otis and Senator George Latimer have done for the children in our care,” Kliszus said.

“We are closing in our our target of reaching 50 percent of the Foundation Aid the state is legally obligated to provide,” he said.
