Port Chester Volunteers Allege Harassment In Wake Of Paid Firefighter Firings
The volunteers say they not only had to take over from the fired professionals but were objects of intimidation tactics.

PORT CHESTER, NY — Volunteer firefighters in Port Chester are alleging harassment in the days following the firing of paid firefighters by the village board in May 2016. A letter from the fire department’s lawyer said the volunteers not only had to take over from the fired professionals but were objects of intimidation tactics.
According to the Journal News, the behavior wasn’t violent, but rather more of a nuisance, including fraudulent hold-mail requests, a log book that went missing and a fake fire call made during a pro-union protest.
