Westchester Leaders & Donors Highly Impressed at Carver Center's Open House

Whether you're affiliated with or even working for the Carver Center on Westchester Avenue here in Port Chester, there's a lot to be excited about. This September 24 Open House, equipped with a cocktail hour and then a building-wide tour, Carver Center's leaders and staff spoke proudly in depth of each program, discussing offerings and the strong number of enrollees. It doesn't matter how old you are, from kids and teens to young adults and older adults, there's something that Carver Center offers to everyone.

"This open house is all about inviting community partners, donors, friends of donors, because we know when people come to our building, they really can get a good feeling for all that goes on here, such as how many different programs we have, and how integral we are to the community," said Gina Nocco, Carver Center's Senior Director of Operations. "We talk about both new and existing programs. It's just for them to become more well-acquainted with Carver Center's programs."

While the Center serves much of the Port Chester/Rye region, people come from all over the county from White Plains, New Rochelle and Yonkers, all to take part life-fulfilling educational, vocational-style, after-school, career enhancement programs. The Center's offerings seem endless, but quite comprehensive where there's a program for everyone, offering many adult and family services to the very positive youth and young adult programs, plus their strong emphasis on food and nutrition, the Center has their arms open at all times.

For 83 years, Carver Center has helped thousands who come from low‑income, the working‑poor, and other community members in need, but also those families facing economic hardship, especially now in 2026 where it has been way too common in the United States.

"Carver Center’s open house gives community members an opportunity to learn about the valuable services provided to Port Chester families on a daily basis," said Ms. Bradner. "Participants in the open house learn how we nourish, educate and empower the community while getting to see the spaces in which the work happens and meeting the staff members who lead our programs."

Without saying, the Carver Center, the programs that are offered and the people who run the programs, are all about paving a future for those who may be underserved in the community. From leadership to the general staff, the Center welcomes everyone with open arms. That was the true feeling from the people who attended the Open House and what they came away with.
