The Sharing Shelf of Family Services of Westchester to Hold their Spring Teen Boutique

A Free Shopping Opportunity for Teenage Girls from Families in Financial Need

PORT CHESTER, NY (April 6, 2016) -- The Sharing Shelf, with the support of over 200 volunteers, will come together to create a festive, store-like environment stocked with thousands of spring/summer clothing items as well as handbags, shoes, scarves and costume jewelry. Each teen receives a certificate allowing her to choose over 30 items. In the weeks and months leading up to Teen Boutique, The Sharing Shelf of FSW has collected thousands of new and gently used items that have all been carefully screened for quality and age-appropriateness.

Volunteers will converge at The Carver Center, Port Chester on Saturday, April 9, to begin setup and return on Sunday, April 10, to serve. The teen shoppers are invited to shop on Sunday beginning at 12pm until 4pm. At the event, volunteers act as fashion consultants, guiding and assisting the girls as they shop.

This is The Sharing Shelf’s 8th Teen Boutique. The first event took place in November 2012 and there has been one each season (November and April) since that time, benefitting more than 800 girls in our county.
