That is according to a study conducted by a Fort Lauderdale, FL, research firm, westfaironline.com reported.

Fabrizio, Lee & Associates interviewed 200 Port Chester residents and found that 64 percent were aware of the project and 69 percent thought it would help the village become more competitive around the Sound Shore.

Starwood Capital Group purchased the site in 2006 for $28 million. It would like to build a 135-room hotel, 217,000 square feet of medical-type office space, 90,000 square feet of retail spaces, 500 residential units for young professionals and 230 age-restricted housing units.

There would also be almost an acre of open space.
