2 Charged In Suffolk Man's Slaying: Police

Two people have been charged in the slaying death of a 25-year-old Suffolk man earlier this month, police say.

CORAM, NY — Two people have been charged in the slaying death of a 25-year-old Suffolk man earlier this month, police said.

Branzel Bonner Jr. of Shirley was found shot to death in a wooded area in Coram on Dec. 2, police said. Officers responding to a 911 call found Bonner shot, said police, adding that he was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Marcus Reid, 23, of Riverhead, was arrested on Dec. 13 and Monique Brown, 28, also of Riverhead, was arrested on Dec. 28 and both were charged with second-degree murder, police said. They have been arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.

Police did not release any further details.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers, a confidential police hotline, at 1-800-220-TIPS.
