UPDATE: Police ID 1 Of 2 Men Killed In Separate LI Crashes

A driver in one crash was charged with driving while intoxicated, Suffolk police said.

UPDATE: Glenn Ohlinger, 66, of Coram, has been identified as the pedestrian killed after a motor vehicle crash on Route 112 in Coram on Tuesday.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Two men were struck and killed on roadways in two separate crashes — one involving an alleged drunken driver — on Long Island Tuesday night, Suffolk police said.

At about 9:35 p.m., Jason Hank was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla northbound on Route 112, about 1,000 feet south of Pine Road, in Coram when the car struck a man in the roadway, police said. The man, who has not yet been identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, according to police.

Hank, 24, of Port Jefferson Station was charged with driving while intoxicated and was held overnight at the 6th Precinct for arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.

About two hours later at 11:30 p.m., Hazrat Kahn was driving a Honda Odyssey that struck a man on William Floyd Parkway at the intersection of Sunrise Highway in Shirley, police said. Kahn stopped the Honda on the side of the road and got out of the mini-van to help the man, said police, adding that a southbound BMW sedan that was driven by Edward Deoliveira struck him a second time.

The man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Medical Examiner's office, police said. Kahn, 21, and Deoliveira, 78, both of Shirley, were not injured according to police. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
