303 Barnum Avenue

Address disappears.

For those of you that don't know it, we taxpayers bought a house at 303 Barnum for a couple hundred thousand dollars so that it could be torn down and a parking lot would be put in its place. Sounds like Margots restaurant, but it is not funny. As taxpayers there was no vote to tie us up with the 10 year Bond for $500,000. by the time the work is done. The only persons this will benefit will be the out of towners and the residents of the new project like apartments on West Broadway who will exit via a private drive right next to the new "Village" lot. One can bet the apartment residents will use the lot with there Village stickers which makes one wonder how this sweet deal was put together to add additional parking for the apartment owners.

One wonders with the lack of parking facilities and the other apartments at the old Gudzik site on the horizon, will Margot and company be looking for or have they found another surprise purchase for the next set of apartments. Hopefully the taxpayers will be given timely and not misleading information for this next debacle. The house at 303 Barnum was reffered to in most Village minutes by its plot numbers for some strange reason and the property adjacent to the north, owned by the apartment owners was never mentioned. Transparency in my opinion does not exist with this administration.
