5 Nabbed In Crackdown On Sales Of Vapes To People Under 21 In Coram And Medford: Police
Eighteen businesses were checked for compliance in response to community complaints, Suffolk police say.
CORAM, NY — Five people were charged in connection with selling flavored vape products to people under the age of 21 during compliance checks at multiple businesses throughout the 6th Precinct over the weekend, Suffolk police said.
Officers from the Investigative Unit in the 6th Precinct in Selden checked 18 businesses for compliance with laws related to the sale of tobacco products, and arrested employees at five stores in response to community complaints.
The following people were charged with second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child:

• A 29-year-old from Syosset who is an employee of GasCon on Middle Country
Road in Coram.
• A 32-year-old from Coram who is an employee of Chico’s Smoke Shop on Route 112 in Medford.
• A 63-year-old from Coram who is an employee of Sunoco Gas on Route 112 in Coram.
• A 35-year-old from Centereach who is an employee of USA Gas on Route 112 in Medford.
• A 24-year-old from Port Jefferson who is an employee of Puff Club Smoke Shop on Route 112 in Coram.
All five were issued Desk Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to appear in First District
Court in Central Islip on a later date.
