Five Comsewogue High School students were recognized at the 24th Annual Teeny Awards, an East End Arts ceremony honoring the top high school theater students in performing arts programs across Long Island.

Junior Zoë Mancuso won the award for Supporting Role in a Musical for her portrayal of Fastrada in Comsewogue’s production of “Pippin,” while senior Marianna Perratti won for Supporting Role in a Play for her performance as Kolenkhov in the school’s production of “You Can’t Take It With You.” Additionally, seniors Georgia Duffy and Gabriella Blouin and junior Ruby Preddice earned Teeny Award nominations for their performances this year.

“We’re only in our second year partnering with East End Arts, and to already see this level of recognition speaks to how much talent and dedication our students bring to every production,” said Drama Director Alyssa Stephens.

The Teeny Awards are sponsored by East End Arts, an organization whose mission is to enrich the musical and visual arts communities throughout Long Island. East End Arts established the Teeny Awards in 2002 to recognize young performers in a range of categories for their work in plays and musicals.

Comsewogue has been a partner of the organization for two years and its involvement only continues to grow, with freshman Amelia Nieri recently joining the East End Arts student council.
